About Jeepney Jam & FAHM Jam

Jeepney Jam and FAHM Jam are vibrant cultural celebrations in San Jose, paying homage to the rich heritage of the Philippines and Filipino Americans residing in Silicon Valley. These festivities trace their roots back to the iconic 'Street Jam' Filipino American Cultural Festival (Youtube Link), which graced Downtown San Jose from 1994 to 2001, organized by the Filipino American Heritage Appreciation Project (FAHAP) organization. The modern incarnations of these celebrations, starting with FAHM Jam in 2019 and Jeepney Jam in 2022, serve as the spiritual successors to the beloved Street Jam Festival.

Hosted by the FACTsv Coalition, a collaborative effort among various non-profit Filipino American organizations based in Santa Clara County, Jeepney Jam & FAHM Jam celebrations represent the unity and diversity of the Filipino American community in Silicon Valley. These events serve as platforms for artists, performers, chefs, and entrepreneurs to showcase their talents, celebrate their cultural roots, and engage with the local community. Through art, music, dance, and cuisine, FAHM/Jeepney Jam celebrations foster a sense of pride and connection while sharing the beauty of Philippine and Filipino American traditions with all.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Jeepney Jam and FAHM Jam is their commitment to accessibility, as admission is always free. By removing barriers to entry, these celebrations welcome people from all walks of life to come together, learn, and celebrate the rich tapestry of Philippine and Filipino American heritage. Whether through captivating performances, delectable cuisine, or engaging cultural exhibits, Jeepney Jam and FAHM Jam exemplify the spirit of unity, diversity, and inclusivity, making them cherished highlights of the San Jose cultural calendar.

Jeepney Jam and FAHM Jam are dynamic cultural celebrations in San Jose, paying tribute to the Philippines and Filipino American heritage. Originating from the iconic 'Street Jam' Filipino American Cultural Festival of 1994-2001 in Downtown San Jose (hosted by the FAHAP organization), these events beginning in 2019 are modern successors. Organized by the FACTsv Coalition, comprised of various Filipino American groups including FAHNS-SV, LEAD Filipino, FYC, and more, in partnership with Moveable Co, Jeepney Jam and FAHM Jam unite the community through art, music, cuisine, and entrepreneurship. These celebrations showcase diverse talents and cultural traditions while fostering pride and connection within the Silicon Valley Filipino American community.
